It’s Christmas Eve. Tomorrow is the BIG day. You’ve worked so hard to make tomorrow perfect. You’ve planned and prepped and now, after your loved ones have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, you sit in the calm of Christmas Eve magic. Christmas tree lights are the only lights on in the house, as they have been every night all December (maybe longer if you’re like me). It’s starting to softly snow, just a blanket covering the ground. That glisten from the lights reflecting off the snow, giving the little halos making the lights seem just a little more magical. Christmas music in the background, or maybe you’re watching The Santa Claus for the thousandth time this season, again, if you’re like me. This, this, is perfection.

Allow me to now introduce myself. Yes, I know it’s odd for this to come in paragraph 2. But hello! My name is Bria, I’m a photographer based in Charleston, WV. One of my absolute favorite things–if you haven’t figured it out yet…CHRISTMAS! The whole Christmas season. Everything about it, even the crowds! If you are like me, Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year. The excitement and anticipation of the BIG day. The time when it is almost here, so close. That excitement, that Christmas Eve feeling, is what I feel before a photo session. The preparation, the calm *right* before, and then soaking up all the joy of the experience!

I hope your holiday season treated you well. As for me, I’m off to go soak up a few more weeks sitting by the lights of my Christmas tree. As my girl Taylor Swift says–“We could leave the Christmas lights up ’til January, this is our place, we make the rules.”
